OUR HISTORY
New Rochelle United Methodist Church is born of two previous existing congregations, St Luke's United Methodist Church and Christ United Methodist Church both of New Rochelle. During the 211th session of the New York Annual Conference they officially became one congregation in accordance with the provisions of the United Methodist Book of Discipline and the laws of New York State.
The mission of the United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. As we proclaim the gospel, we welcome all of God's children respecting race, ethnicity, gender, and capabilities.
We pray we can equip you with the tools to go out into the world to create more disciples for Christ!
WE BELIEVE
We believe in God, the creator of the world, Jesus Christ the Redeemer of creation,
and the Holy Spirit through whom we acknowledge God's gifts.
We affirm the natural world as God's handiwork, and dedicate ourselves to its
preservation, enhancement, and faithful use by mankind.
We dedicate ourselves to peace throughout the world, to the rule of justice and law among nations, and to individual freedom for all people of the world.We commit ourselves to the rights of all men, women, children, young adults, and the young at heart; to improvement of the quality of life; and to the rights and dignity of all persons.
